GoHighLevel review 2026: is it worth it?

By / Published Oct 30, 2026 / Updated Nov 1, 2026

Heads up: the trial buttons on this page use my affiliate link. If you sign up through it I get a commission. It doesn't cost you more.

If you're going to sell AI agents, automations or websites to local businesses, yes, GoHighLevel is worth it. It replaces most of the separate tools you'd otherwise be paying for. If you just need a website or an email list for one business, it's overkill and you should use something cheaper.

That's my answer after running my own agency, Hexona Systems, on it. HighLevel has given me their Platinum SaaSpreneur award and their Diamond award twice, so I've seen pretty much every part of it. When I started my AI business I was scared of what it was going to cost me, I was overthinking a $5 subscription lol. My budget was under $300 a month for everything, and HighLevel was the one tool that covered almost all of it.

Short version

  • 01If you sell AI agents, automations or websites to local businesses, it's worth it. It replaced Calendly, DocuSign, HubSpot and a website builder for me, and it's where I build the AI agents I sell.
  • 02I'd start on the $297 plan because it has white label. I'm on the $497 one and you don't need that as a beginner.
  • 03If you only need a website or email for one business, it's overkill.
  • 04Sign up through my link and you get a 1:1 setup call with my team (account set up within 5 days), weekly live calls with me, Hamza AI, my snapshots and courses on top.

What does GoHighLevel actually do?

It's a CRM, booking calendar, website builder, email and SMS tool, invoicing, contracts and AI agent builder in one login.

I think about it in two buckets. Stuff I do for clients: AI agents for Instagram, SMS and voice, websites, custom workflows, chat widgets, review requests, email and SMS. And stuff I need to run my own business: tracking leads, a booking calendar, my own site, invoices and contracts, collecting payments, and posting my videos everywhere. HighLevel does both, which is why it's the only big subscription I pay for.

What do I use it for every day?

Conversations is the inbox. SMS, email, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook messages all land in one place, and AI answers a lot of my Instagram DMs from there.

The calendar is super underrated. People book on my link, it syncs to Google Calendar, and it sends confirmation and reminder texts and emails for me (you pick the timing, 10 minutes before, 24 hours, 48 hours, whatever). You can charge for the booking up front if you do paid consults, and embed it on your site.

Opportunities is the pipeline. Inside a deal I'll write something like "interested but can't pay yet, follow up in 2 weeks" and add a task with a due date so I actually get reminded. People keep this in their head or the notes app or Excel and then forget to follow up after the first objection. The money is made in the follow-ups.

Payments is where I send invoices. Pick the contact, attach a product or a custom price, add tax or a discount, send. They get an email and an SMS with a link, pay by card, and it goes to my Stripe. Contracts are in the same area: upload your PDF, add a date and signature field with Add element, send, and you get a copy when it's signed.

Then there's the AI agents (voice receptionists and Instagram DM agents), the social planner that posts my videos to YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, the website builder, and the Google review tools. Workflows tie all of it together. When someone comments on my video, my DM agent messages them, asks if they want to start an agency or buy our services, and sends them to the right place. I have hundreds of these running.

Is it cheaper than buying separate tools?

For me it was. Calendly is like $15 to $20 a month, DocuSign around 20, HubSpot around 50. None of them sound like much on their own but it adds up fast when you're starting out and have no clients yet. And none of those three build AI agents or websites.

Which plan should you start on?

As of October 2026 there are three self-serve plans: Starter at $97 a month (3 sub-accounts), Unlimited at $297 (unlimited sub-accounts) and the top plan at $497, which HighLevel now calls Founder and is where SaaS mode and rebilling with markup live. Paying yearly is $970, $2,970 and $4,970. The full breakdown is on Pricing.

I'm on the $497 plan. I don't think you need that as a beginner. I'd start on Unlimited at $297, because you get unlimited sub-accounts and you can white label the app, so my clients log in on my own domain with the Hexona Systems logo and never see the word HighLevel. Starter's 3 sub-accounts run out fast once you have clients.

What's the downside?

Price, mostly. $297 a month is a lot when you have zero clients, and that's the plan I'd actually recommend.

The plan price isn't the whole bill either. Phone numbers, texts, emails and premium AI are billed on usage (rates in Usage fees), and add-ons like AI Employee ($50 or $97 a month per sub-account as of Oct 2026) cost extra. On Unlimited and above you can rebill those to clients, but as a beginner you're paying them yourself.

There's also a lot in it. The first week can feel like too much, and most of it you won't need until you have clients. And if you're one business that only needs a website or email marketing, you're paying for a ton of stuff you'll never open.

From my own account

Search Hexona Systems on Google and look at the review profile. I built that with HighLevel's review tools: sending review requests to customers, AI replying to the reviews, and following its profile checklist. I have a separate video on ranking a Google Business Profile if you want the full process.

How to get started

  1. 01

Start the trial through my link

The 30-day trial through my link is on the $297 Unlimited plan, which is the one I'd start on anyway. You'll get an invite to my private Skool community automatically.

  2. 02

Connect Google Calendar and share a booking link

Set your availability and reminders, and embed the calendar on your site so "book now" goes straight to it.

  3. 03

Set up your pipeline in Opportunities

Add your stages, then put every lead in there with notes and a follow-up task.

  4. 04

    Connect Stripe

So invoices and payment links pay out to your account.

  5. 05

Build one workflow end to end

The 5-day course in my free Skool community walks through this, plus getting your first client.

FAQ

How does the free trial work?

The trial is 30 days through my link instead of HighLevel's usual 14, on the $297 Unlimited plan. You need a card to start, nothing is charged that day, and HighLevel bills your card after the month unless you cancel. Usage like texts, calls and premium AI can be billed during the trial.

Can I white label GoHighLevel?

Yes. You can white label the web app with your own domain and logo, so your clients never see the HighLevel name. I'd do it on the $297 Unlimited plan, since that's the one with unlimited sub-accounts. The full setup is in White label guide.

Do I need the $497 plan?

Not as a beginner. I'm on it, but the $297 plan has white label, which is what you need to put clients on your own branded account.

Is GoHighLevel good for beginners?

There's a lot to learn, but you don't need most of it on day one. My free Skool community has a 5-day course that goes from setting up HighLevel to getting your first client. The setup order I'd follow is in Beginner's setup order.

Can I cancel?

Yes. HighLevel is month to month with no contract, and you can cancel from your dashboard anytime. If you're on the trial and don't want to be billed, cancel before the 30 days are up (the trial page says to contact gohighlevel.com/support).
