GoHighLevel snapshots: what they are and how to use them (2026)
Heads up: the trial buttons on this page use my affiliate link. If you sign up through it I get a commission. It doesn't cost you more.
A GoHighLevel snapshot is a saved copy of one sub-account's setup (funnels, websites, workflows, calendars, pipelines, custom fields, templates, AI agents and more) that you load into any other sub-account in a few clicks. It copies the build and never the data, so contacts, conversations, appointments, phone numbers and integrations like Stripe stay behind.
Snapshots are how I set up clients fast. Industry snapshots are part of the bonus you get through my link (see My bonus), and when a client wants me to build it for them, I start from one and customize it. Below is exactly what's in a snapshot, every menu path for creating, sharing, loading and updating one as of October 2026, and the stuff that trips people up after a load.
The video version
Short version
- 01A snapshot copies configuration from one sub-account into another. Contacts, conversations, appointments, phone numbers, Stripe and other integrations don't come with it.
- 02Create one under Agency View > Account Snapshots > + Create New Snapshot, then load it into a new sub-account or an existing one.
- 03Snapshots don't update on their own. Refresh the snapshot, then push the changes to the sub-accounts that use it.
- 04On the $497 plan, attach a snapshot to a SaaS plan and every new signup gets it loaded automatically.
- 052026 added auto-included dependencies, loading many sub-accounts at once, a conflict check when enabling SaaS, and a lot more asset types.
What is a GoHighLevel snapshot?
HighLevel calls it a reusable template that captures selected configuration assets from a sub-account. You don't build a snapshot directly. You build a sub-account the way you want it, then take a snapshot of that account, and now you can drop the same setup into as many other sub-accounts as you like.
Think of it as the house without the furniture. Every workflow, page, calendar and pipeline comes over, empty and ready for the new business's own leads.
What's included in a snapshot, and what isn't
This is the part most guides get wrong or leave half done. Straight from HighLevel's snapshot docs:
| Asset | Copied? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Funnels and websites | Yes | Arrive as drafts. Connect a domain and publish them yourself. |
| Workflows and triggers | Yes | Since Oct 2026 the email templates, fields, tags and pipelines they use come along automatically. |
| Calendars and services | Yes | Calendar groups, services, add-ons and resources too |
| Pipelines, tags, custom fields, custom values | Yes | Includes company fields and custom objects |
| Forms, surveys, quizzes | Yes | |
| Email and SMS templates, campaigns | Yes | |
| Conversation AI, Voice AI, Agent Studio | Yes | Voice agents need a phone number assigned after the load |
| Chat widget | Yes | Added April 2026 |
| Dashboards and custom reports | Yes | Private dashboards don't copy |
| Memberships, courses, webinars, certificates | Yes | |
| Documents and contracts, knowledge bases | Yes | |
| Ad campaigns (Meta, Google, LinkedIn) | Yes | LinkedIn campaigns import as drafts, Lead Gen Forms excluded |
| Smart Lists | The filter only | The records shown come from the new account |
| WhatsApp templates | Yes | Need WhatsApp connected and Meta approval before use |
| Contacts and appointments | No | |
| Conversations and message history | No | |
| Phone numbers | No | Buy or connect one in each sub-account |
| Stripe and other integrations | No | Reconnect Google, Facebook, Stripe and the rest per account |

How to create a snapshot
Build the source sub-account first. I keep a clean demo account per niche so nothing from a real client ends up inside a template. Then:
- Go to Agency View > Account Snapshots and click + Create New Snapshot.
- Name it after the use case (HighLevel's own example is "Spa Funnel Setup") and pick the source sub-account.
- Click Select All, or expand each category and tick only what you want.
- Click Create. If some assets fail to load, there's a Retry button so you don't have to start over.
How to load a snapshot into a new or existing sub-account
New client: go to Account Snapshots, find the snapshot and click the blue Create New Account (+) button next to it. Fill in the business details and click Add Sub-Account. The snapshot loads as the account is created. You can only pick one snapshot here, and you can load more later.
Existing client: go to Sub-Accounts, click the three dots next to the account and choose Manage Client, then Actions > Load Snapshot. Pick the snapshot, tick the assets you want, and HighLevel shows you any conflicts. Override replaces the client's version with the snapshot's, Skip keeps theirs. Type confirm, click Proceed, and you get an email when it's done.
Be careful with Override. HighLevel says it can't be undone, and a loaded snapshot can't be unloaded either, you'd delete the pieces by hand. Since March 2026 you can also load one snapshot into several sub-accounts at once from Account Snapshots with Load Updates to Sub-Account.
How to push snapshot updates to client accounts
Snapshots don't update by themselves. Change something in the source sub-account and the snapshot still has the old version until you refresh it. Go to Account Snapshots, click the Refresh icon on the snapshot, tick the new or changed assets and click Refresh. Every refresh saves a version you can check under the snapshot's Version History tab.
Then click Push Update, pick the sub-accounts that already use the snapshot and which assets to send. HighLevel describes pushes as selective, so you send only what changed. Pushes only reach sub-accounts in your own agency. Another agency has to import a fresh link.
Two controls worth knowing. Edit Snapshot (three dots on the snapshot) lets you switch individual assets and sub-accounts on or off for future pushes. View History shows which accounts succeeded, failed or are still pending. And if a refresh deletes a step in a workflow, HighLevel now removes contacts who were waiting on that step so they don't get stuck.
Snapshots with SaaS mode: auto-load on signup
This is where snapshots really pay off. In the SaaS Configurator, each plan has a Features and Snapshot section. Attach a snapshot to the plan, and when someone pays at checkout, HighLevel creates their sub-account and loads the snapshot on its own. They log in to a finished setup.
Since September 2026, if you turn on SaaS for a sub-account that already has your customizations and attach a snapshot, HighLevel warns you before overwriting anything and lets you keep your versions. Before that it could silently replace edited funnels and websites. You can also attach snapshots you bought on the Marketplace to a SaaS plan.
SaaS mode is on the $497 a month plan (as of October 2026). You don't need SaaS mode to use snapshots. I don't lead with SaaS mode, and I explain why (see SaaS mode guide).
Where to get snapshots: HighLevel, the Marketplace, or build your own
HighLevel has its own industry snapshots. Its pricing FAQ mentions a library of pre-built accounts for industries like real estate, dentists and gyms, and its help center has setup guides for them, like the Hair Salon snapshot you import from a share link.
The App Marketplace is where agencies sell them. Selling starts from Account Snapshots with Sell on Marketplace, the listing can be free, one-time, monthly or yearly, each app holds one snapshot, and HighLevel reviews it in 7 to 10 days. Since August 2026, protected assets you buy can be reused across your own sub-accounts, they just can't be resold to another agency.
Or build your own, which is what I'd do for anything you're going to sell more than once.
How I use snapshots for clients
When I talk to a local business there are two roads: they build it themselves on my software, or they say just do it for me. For the second one, I don't start from a blank account. In my beginner's guide I put it this way: "I've got over a hundred different industry snapshots and templates for you to copy and paste directly into their accounts." Tax, financial advisors, mortgages, gutters, chimneys, garbage removal, pressure washing, with the templates and websites built out. They're part of what you get through my link.
My plumbing one is a good example of what's inside. A form or funnel submission assigns the lead, tags it new lead and creates an opportunity. The new lead workflow notifies staff and sends a welcome email and text using the business's own name, then follows up every day until the lead replies. Booked appointments get confirmations and reminders 3 days, 1 day and 1 hour before. No-shows go into their own sequence, stale leads drop into a long-term nurture, and there's a database reactivation workflow to wake up old customers. Landing pages come with it.
Honestly though, I'm not the biggest fan of selling templated solutions as they are. Templates are great to get your foot in the door and show value. The real work is tailoring it to exactly what that business needs, so use a snapshot as the foundation and build on top of it.
What to check after loading a snapshot
HighLevel's own Hair Salon guide says don't publish pages, turn on workflows, send messages or put live calls through right after installing. Test first. This is the list I'd run through:
- Update the custom values (business name, phone, address, booking link) so templates stop saying the placeholder name.
- Connect the domain and publish the funnels and websites, they arrive as drafts.
- Buy or connect a phone number (see Use your own phone number) and assign it to any Voice AI agent.
- Reconnect Stripe, Google, Facebook and anything else, integrations don't copy.
- Set calendar availability and staff, then book a test appointment.
- Run a test contact through every workflow before switching it on.
- Don't load the same snapshot twice into one account. HighLevel warns it can create conflicts or duplicates.
What changed with snapshots in 2026
HighLevel shipped snapshot changes almost every month this year. The ones that change how you work:
| Date | What changed |
|---|---|
| Oct 27 | Asset dependencies: workflows and email templates bring the fields, tags, pipelines and templates they use |
| Oct 10 | New custom field types (URL, date and time, rich text and more) copy in snapshots |
| Sep 29 | Company and custom object Smart Lists |
| Sep 17 | Pick the default dashboard while loading a snapshot |
| Sep 10 | Enabling SaaS on a customized sub-account warns before a snapshot overwrites anything |
| Aug 27 | Reuse protected snapshot assets across your own agency |
| Jul 8 | View Snapshot History on each sub-account: every snapshot ever loaded and its assets |
| Jun 11 | AI Studio projects in snapshots |
| Apr 29 | Chat widget support, and a new import screen where you can rename on import |
| Mar 18 | Link and load multiple sub-accounts at once (Labs) |
| Feb 25 | LinkedIn ad campaigns in snapshots |
| Jan 19 | Refreshes no longer leave contacts stuck on deleted workflow steps |

From my own account
My white label is called Hexona Systems, and the niche automations come built into it. When I open the automation tab in my plumbing demo there's a plumber automation folder with the whole system in it, which is the snapshot you see in the video above.
Set up your first niche snapshot
- 01
Build one clean demo sub-account for your niche
Workflows, a funnel, a calendar, a pipeline and the templates. No real client data in it.
- 02
Use custom values for the business details
Business name, phone and booking link as custom values, so every template updates in one place after a load.
- 03
Create the snapshot
Agency View > Account Snapshots > + Create New Snapshot. Name it after the niche and select all.
- 04
Load it into a new client
Account Snapshots > Create New Account (+) next to the snapshot, or Manage Client > Actions > Load Snapshot for an existing one.
- 05
Finish the account-specific setup
Phone number, domain, integrations, calendar availability. Then test every workflow with a test contact.
- 06
Improve the master and push it
Change the demo account, hit Refresh on the snapshot, then Push Update to the clients that use it.

FAQ
Are GoHighLevel snapshots free?
There's no separate charge for creating, sharing or loading your own snapshots. HighLevel also has free industry snapshots. Snapshots other agencies sell on the Marketplace or their own sites cost whatever they set.
Do snapshots copy contacts?
No. Snapshots copy configuration only. Contacts, appointments, conversations, message history and reputation data stay in the original account. If you need contacts in the new account, import them with a CSV.
Does a snapshot copy phone numbers and integrations?
No. Phone numbers, Stripe and other connected accounts like Google and Facebook have to be set up in each sub-account. Voice AI agents copy over, but you assign them a number after the load.
Do snapshot updates push automatically?
No. You refresh the snapshot after changing the source account, then click Push Update and choose which sub-accounts and assets get it. Pushes only go to sub-accounts in your own agency.
Will loading a snapshot overwrite my client's work?
Only if you tell it to. When an asset already exists, HighLevel asks you to Override or Skip. Loading doesn't delete contacts or client data, but an override can't be undone, so read the conflict list.
Can I remove a snapshot after loading it?
Not in one click. HighLevel says a loaded snapshot can't be unloaded. You delete the funnels, workflows and other assets you don't want by hand.
Can I sell my GoHighLevel snapshots?
Yes. Use Sell on Marketplace from Account Snapshots to list it on HighLevel's App Marketplace as free, one-time, monthly or yearly, or share it yourself with a permanent or one-time link. Turn on Assets Protected so buyers can't resell it.
What's the difference between a snapshot and a template?
A template is one asset, like a single workflow or email from the template library. A snapshot bundles a whole account's worth of assets, workflows, funnels, calendars, pipelines and fields, so you can copy an entire setup at once.
