Google Unveils Gemini 3: The Most Intelligent AI Model Yet

Google has launched Gemini 3, marking a significant advancement in artificial intelligence technology with what the company describes as its most intelligent model to date. Gemini 3 Pro has achieved a breakthrough Elo score of 1501 on the LMArena Leaderboard, establishing itself as the industry's top-performing model. The system demonstrates PhD-level reasoning capabilities, scoring 37.5% on Humanity’s Last Exam without tool assistance and an impressive 91.9% on GPQA Diamond.

The model’s mathematical prowess sets a new benchmark, achieving 23.4% accuracy on MathArena Apex, while its multimodal reasoning capabilities achieve 81% on MMMU-Pro and 87.6% on Video-MMMU. Perhaps most notably for practical applications, Gemini 3 Pro scored 72.1% on SimpleQA Verified, indicating substantial progress in factual accuracy.

On SWE-bench Verified, a benchmark measuring coding agents, Gemini 3 achieved 76.2%, substantially outperforming its predecessor.

The launch coincides with the introduction of Google Antigravity, a new agentic development platform that transforms AI from a passive tool into an active development partner. Using Gemini 3’s advanced capabilities, Antigravity enables agents to autonomously plan and execute complex software tasks while maintaining access to the editor, terminal, and browser.

Multimodal Capabilities and Real-World Applications

Gemini 3’s multimodal understanding spans text, images, video, audio, and code, powered by a 1-million-token context window. The system can translate handwritten recipes in multiple languages, analyze sports performance from video footage, and generate interactive educational materials from academic papers.

In practical applications, the model can navigate multi-step workflows such as booking local services or organizing email inboxes. Google AI Ultra subscribers can access these agentic capabilities through Gemini Agent in the Gemini app.

Enhanced Long-Horizon Planning

Gemini 3 demonstrates improved long-horizon planning abilities, topping the Vending-Bench 2 leaderboard. The benchmark tests evaluated the plan's capabilities by simulating a full year of vending machine operations, during which Gemini 3 Pro maintained consistent decision-making and tool usage while generating higher returns than competing models.

Security and Responsible Development

According to Google, Gemini 3 has undergone the most comprehensive safety evaluations of any Google AI model to date. The system shows reduced sycophancy, increased resistance to prompt injection attacks, and improved protection against misuse of cyberattacks. Google partnered with world-leading subject matter experts for evaluations, provided early access to the UK AISI, and obtained independent assessments from industry experts, including Apollo, Vaultis, and Dreadnode.
